Fisherman's Folklore

Back in the days when cod was king, from fish came fame and fortune! Turning to the great Atlantic, Lunenburg’s seafood industry gave rise to our notoriety around the world.

Today, our working waterfront is still vibrant and home to several tall ships including the legendary Bluenose II. From Prohibition, to rum running, to the great August Gales, our friendly guides will haul up tales from the sea. You’ll learn about the glory and the hardships of the seafaring days in our famous fishing port.

Tour starts 70 Bluenose Dr. just across from the Fisheries Museum of the Atlantic. Look for our Lunenburg Walking Tours sidewalk sign and listen for the sound of our dory horn for the start of your Fisherman's Folklore adventure! Tour follows a level route along Lunenburg's working waterfront.
